Lexington: John Bradford, 1807. The Kentucke Gazette was founded primarily to promote statehood for the territory. John Bradford, though he printed almanacs, circulars, and pamphlets from the year 1787, did not get out a book until 1793; and that was subsequent to the issue of a book by Maxwell and Cooch, who established a printing press in Lexington long after Bradford.
